Wow, just what I wanted on my birthday…

Aig

Phone them to opt out? Fat chance.

Do they really believe that buying my birthday information will get them close enough to me to pitch? I don’t feel warm and fuzzy, I feel like my privacy has been invaded.

This reminds me a lot of the video posted below. The job of the marketer is not to find personal information and exploit it, but rather to create meaningful relationships, and celebrate them. Vida gets this.

I’m not sure, but I’m don’t believe that large corporations should feign intimacy, despite what they read in business books. It rarely comes across as authentic, and very few consumers buy it anyway…!

So, Joblog has always had one posting rule, it has to be about South Africa or our lives in SA. However

So that looks like an iPhone… I just managed to get myself the iPod touch. I am having issues with connecting to my home wifi network… have you guys managed to make the connection and surf the web on your iPhone??

    If so, any tips?

Rich, Under the new ECT act provided by WASPA, it is illegal to get those sms’s if u have not given permission to be contacted. Find Out where AIG got the database from and take it from there.

I got the same sms the other day (not with your name though). In fact I’ve been getting tons of them lately. I make it my mission to never do business with a company that spams me which means Nedbank will never have me as a client!

… and I kinda feel a little bit of pity for the poor, lowly, call-centre agent who needs to take the call of the fool who phones the number, realises it is a sales pitch (and not a simple opt out call) and then dumps unceremoniously on the agent. Really not cool.

Hey Nic: Yeah, I’ve had no probs at all, even before I managed to get the sim unlock thing working I was on my home and work wifi, actually, on Monday I used it on the airport’s (login required) wifi too. What problems are you having?

    Vovo: Thanks, I’ll do that.

Craig, I’m with you bro, it’s a “straight to jail”card for me.

Aiden, I hear you bro, but I lack sympathy, I don’t by the “I was just following orders” line of defense…!
