Swype

A new text input for touch screens was launched at TechCrunch50 in San Francisco yesterday, here’s Swype.

‘…it was recognized as one of the top 50 new technology companies of 2008. Created by Cliff Kushler, the co-inventor of the T9 predictive text technology which is used on almost three billion phones worldwide, Swype provides a faster and easier way to input text on any screen.’ - via

I’m still wondering if it’s going to totally change the way I use my phone, and completely rock my world, or just be a pain in the arse. I guess only time will tell. If you’re using a mobile device, I’d suggest giving it a bash and signing up the beta here.

Don’t think. Apple does that for you.

Okay, yeah, this is my monthly bitch about Apple, but bear with me here. Below is a video about an iPhone application that was banned. It’s a fun, “pull my finger” app - you can guess what it does.

Apple doesn’t allow it in the app store, not because it’s rude/fun. But because they say there’s no market. Thing is, who’s Apple to decide if there’s a market or not? Isn’t that the beauty of the long tail, we can decide?

Man alive, I really hate this company, and more than that, I hate that I get seduced by their sexy products.

What’s keeping me going is waiting for someone to come along and out-Apple Apple - Oh, and won’t be Linux.

Start believing…!
